We have HPE PROLIANT ML350 GEN9 as our server and would like to access the iLo to check the server health. can i plug 1 lan cable from the iLo port in the back of the server to one port in our switch? will this give an I.P address to the ilo? because i cannot restart the server anymore. or can i access it using the Ipv6?
Yes, the iLO port is just another network port. Plug it into a switch, and if the ilo port is set to dhcp it will get an ip address.
You will need a username and password to access the ilo, it may be written on the back of the server or on a label. If not, when the server reboot, you can access ilo port configuration
