A little pricey, but I guess a lot of that was the ram and ssd. I like the m.2 tray, that’s a nice touch.

The price is totally crazy for homelab users and small businesses

In this climate better to just get a second hand desktop and put TrueNAS and the minimum smallest second hand enterprise drives you can get away with in it (plus one spare)

accept the performance hit until prices go back to normal, the beauty of TrueNAS is how easy it is to just move drives/config over to a new unit

Or when prices normalise… buy then and use your old unit as a backup replication target
