HPE Morpheus and VM Essentials?

Anyone using the HPE Morpheus and VM Essentials, and move from VMware to HPE?

Just another product to run down in my quest to cover my backside for the next VM disaster. Yes this is a closed platform, no they don’t seem to offer a lab license. Not sure I’m going to go anywhere with this, but I did send them an email explaining what I was trying to do, and knowing that 60 days is not enough time for me to get through it due to lack of time to concentrate on it.

I think my work is looking at Openshift, which doesn’t seem to be open to download and I’ve heard from a recent post Broadcom video that it is a big lift like Nutanix and Harvester (Rancher and Kubernetes). DELL is backing Openshift with a vxrail like management program, and I think that’s why we are looking. In reality we are small enough that Proxmox or XCP-ng is probably a better fit, but I’m not in that position to make suggestions.

Just thought I would see if anyone has thoughts from working with it.

Funny that I say this yesterday, and in the live someone asks.

I’ve had a response from HP and I’m trying to push them to create more than a simple 60 day trial. Something that you can use in a non-production lab for a lot longer, and or maybe a small license fee like you used to be able to get through VMUG Advantage for VMware. A Microsoft Eval type of condition would be great. I’ll update if I get anywhere with this.

Why do I even care about this? Because options can be good when VMware announces the next big hike and people start to scramble! I like Harvester over Openshift, both are heavy lift with Kubernetes, XCP-ng or course, and I really need to look at Nutanix because I feel I need to look at it.
