How To Build Xen Orchestra From Sources 2024

Hey all, sorry to resurrect an old thread..

With the news from Vates that XO5 has reached its last build of 113. No more XO 5 builds going forward.

For those wanting to try out XO6, you can enable this build by editing xo-install.sh and changing the build flag to true :

INCLUDE_V6=${INCLUDE_V6:-"true"}

It used to be enabled by default, but that changed in the script a while back.

You should see a “Try XO6” menu item (or just append /v6 to the XO’s IP/hostname). The build takes much longer to complete and I made sure to create a snapshot first, just in case :wink:

Worth noting for people coming across this post. There will highly likely be a firewall such as firewalld running on any Linux instance, so you’ll need to allow http / https traffic to the virtual machine so you can access XOA.

It’s not explicitly mentioned in the original post with the full set of commands.

Hey thanks for that tip. I was using the Ronivay Xen Orchestra Install Script and made the change to include v6. All the features are not yet activated in version XO6, but jeez the new interface is confusing, particularly the backup section for the individual VM’s. Hopefully it becomes a little bit more intuitive.

XO-Lite ha s a lot of the v6 look and feel, but still a lot of things not working. I’ll wait until release before I take a deeper look at full XO v6. I don’t think it will be long now.
