Getting CE-00 error and can’t scan to network folder

I have a Sharp MX-2600N and I have been trying to setup a shared network folder to scan to but I keep getting the error above

  • Power edge server

  • UDM pro (no vlans)

Things I have done to setup the network folder:

  • Created the shared folder on the server D root drive and shared with “everyone” on the network

  • Enabled network discovery and printer/file sharing in Windows

  • In the web console of the Sharp printer I copied the network path and entered the username and password of the server

  • Joined the printer to the domain (tested with and without joining)

After this didn’t work I tried:

  • Resetting the NIC on the printer

  • Changing the ip to static

  • Rebooting the server

  • Rebooting the printer

  • Pinging the server from the printer (pings fine)

  • Pinging the printer from the server (pings fine)

  • Opening common printer ports in Windows firewall

If anyone has any idea as to why I get this error, please help!

Have you tried to set the security permissions (not share permissions) to ‘Everyone’ with modify permissions? Just as a test?

My guess is since it an older printer that it is using SMBv1 protocol..

Could enable for testing. I would not recommended it for production environment.

This turned out to be the problem, thank you! I installed SMB1 on the server, and it worked flawlessly.
