Freenas NFS problems with rsync

Running FreeNAS-11.2-U7

Created a NFS share no problem

Mounted a Centos server and mapped the drive

Using Rsync I can successfully sync files to the Freenas box…

Except any symbolic links owned by root. It copies the link but changes the owner to owner of the NFS share

I know I am mounting something wrong…

That’s the problem with NFS – its not going to copy over exact UIDs and GIDs unless the same name/group matches the same UID/GID on the same systems.
