Email in case of error in Replication Task

Good afternoon friends! I configured SMTP on my TrueNAS 23.10 (I’ll update it next month to 24.04.2, which is the maintenance window I’ll have in case of any problems).

However, now I’d like to use this to be notified when a Replication Task is not executed. The replication between my 2 TrueNASes has been stopped since the 15th and I only noticed it when I checked something else on the client’s TrueNAS.

Can someone help me? Before coming here, I went to ChatGPT to check, but it asked me to edit the Replication Task and there would be a notification area, but at least in version 23.10, it doesn’t exist.

Thank you in advance for your help.

This should help.

Sorry for the delay in responding, I ended up having problems and due to a few days without being able to work, when I returned, as always, all the accumulated workload came at once.

In this case, I had configured the notification service, but I hadn’t found a way to be notified only of some items, such as replication failures, disk problems, pool problems, among others.

However, after fixing my replication problem (Replication “Backup Files to TrueNAS02” failed: No incremental base on dataset ‘RAID6/Files’ and replication from scratch is not allowed…), where it was necessary to delete ALL the Datasets on TrueNAS02 and replicate them one by one again, and I adjusted the notifications better, everything seems to be working as it should.

I hope that with this, I won’t have any more replication problems, because TrueNAS02 was out for so long and lost sync of snapshots or something like that, if I understood correctly what was causing my problem.
