I recently acquired a Dell R730 server… I would like to add an nvme drive to the server by way of a pcie adapter from vantec. When I install the card into the server I get a pcie training message and that device has been disabled. I don’t know why this happening, except perhaps a pcie version issue… The slots are either x8 or x16 and I would have assumed that server could lower to support an x4 card and the card i am using is v4/2/3 compatible.
