best practices for on how long to keep security footage for general aviation? As the Fixed Base Operator Manager wants me to keep the footage for 90 days. I am trying to do that but some times it does not work. So I am trying to find ways on doing it. My setup is unvr with 1 10 tb and 8 2k cameras but working on getting more 10 tb hdds. I can reduce them to 1080p. The archive it a nice touch that they have added. But i am just trying to find ways of doing it. I have read based on my research they are saying 30 to 90 days. I am just trying to get some imput.
Hi, I work at large financial institution and have to deal with audit and compliance on a regular basis. We have cameras in hundreds of countries. Some countries expect you purge peoples faces from your archives every 30 days. You cannot move that footage across borders, out of privacy concerns. But really the most important thing to have is a policy and stand by that policy. Policy is based on your company’s appetite for cost and risk. If you say I’m only going to keep video of motion for 7 days make sure you can perform that function reliably and able to show you’re doing that. That’s your practice.
There is not fixed answer to this, all companies will have different requirements
