Good day, I am trying to get an android device to connect to a unifi gateway. with in the gateway we have L2TP turned on and all configured but can not get an android device to connect. I can get an IOS device to connect with no issues. On the android devices i can not install any other apps on the android device as they are blocked.
Any thoughts ?

I have never used L2TP for VPN with Android so I don’t have any real insight to offer there, maybe someone else will.
Generally avoid using L2TP as it does not handle NAT as well and I would suggest using:
- OpenVPN
- Wireguard
- UniFi Teleport

What do you mean “if the manufacturer will allow this”? If you don’t have full access to your own device then sell it and get a proper device.
Besides, L2TP option was removed around Android 13 or so.
Just dump L2TP and get those Apple devices to use a proper VPN connection like Tom mentioned above.
