Add VLAN to Pfsense

I’m currently running 23.01-release on a Netgate SG-1100. I’m using both the LAN and OPT interfaces with no problems but I’d like to add vlan(s) on the LAN port.

I know how to configure vlans on pfsense but don’t know if/how this will impact existing systems on the LAN interface or how to configure the managed switch (D-Link DSG-1100-16) connected to pfsense. On the managed switch, will I have to assign ports for vlan 4091 as well as the new vlans?

Any help on how I need to configure the managed switch would be greatly appreciated.

thanks

Configuring Vlans on this device, is different - just in case

On the DSG, you will not have to configure vlan 4091 - this is SG1100 internal vlan on the ports. Just configure the new vlans on the ports required.
