A malicious bot has taken the telegram account's access

Hey there, my friend’s telegram got hacked, he received a message from his friend (who is also hacked), after checking he mistakenly gave it permission to access the verification code which comes in the app itself, after that he logged out automatically, now OTP is not coming on his number to login back. Now what is the solution? Hacker is sending inappropriate messages to his contact.

Here are some steps to try and resolve the issue:

  1. Immediately change Telegram’s password: Your friend should go to the Telegram website (www.telegram.org ) and change his password. This will prevent the hacker from accessing the account again.

  2. Remove the unauthorized app access: Even though your friend logged out, it’s possible that the hacker still has access to his verification code. Your friend should go to his Telegram settings > Security and Login > App Passwords, and revoke any recently added apps or permissions.

  3. Request a new login code: Sometimes, Telegram’s system can be temperamental when it comes to sending login codes. Suggest that your friend wait for 15-30 minutes before trying to log in again. If the issue persists, he can try requesting a new login code by going to the Telegram website and clicking on “Forgot Password.”

  4. Check for Two-Factor Authentication (2FA): If your friend has enabled 2FA on his Telegram account, it might be causing the issue. Suggest that he disable 2FA temporarily to see if it resolves the problem.

  5. Contact Telegram Support: If none of the above steps work, it’s possible that the hacker has compromised your friend’s account more thoroughly. In this case, your friend should contact Telegram Support directly through their website or Twitter handle (@telegram). They may be able to assist with further troubleshooting or account recovery.

To prevent similar issues in the future:

  • Enable Two-Factor Authentication (2FA): Encourage your friend to enable 2FA on his Telegram account for an extra layer of security.

  • Be cautious when giving app permissions: Remind your friend to only grant permissions to apps that he trusts, and revoke any unnecessary permissions regularly.

Hey thank you, we were able to receive the OTP on his number after some hours. But it was such a horrible experience, it happened because of my friend’s stupidity.
