A Teacher, Amateur Radio Operator, and avid Camper, I’m also a complete geek when it comes to anything technology related.

Presently at home I have a 2012, i5 powered with 16gb of ram Mac mini using a thunderbolt ethernet adaptor as my pfSense router. It does a decent job outside of sometimes the drivers for the ethernet adaptor lock up. From that I have a 24 port EdgeRouter Lite that manages my VLANs and the routing between those VLANs using access control lists.

Looking for information about what hardware I should replace the Mac mini with in order to get a more stable, future proof pfSense router.
