No offense to me, but the two have diverged about as much as they can considering the fork to make OPNsense. The whole philosophy around OPN and its users is different. Other differences are the very frequent updates for the free version, but business is pretty stable. I have both running. The updates cause some installs to be problematic due to that frequency, but you can set a cron to do most of them during a slow period. The other nice thing is zfs and snapshots so you can fall back, can’t remember if that is in pf. Overall, I just like OPN better, and we can have both. Kind of like Gnome or KDE and how people like one better.
