Synology will only allow specific hard drives in their NAS devices?

Enterprises may be used to that but for consumers, it looks like a deal breaker.

From what I read at ServeTheHome, this only applies to 3 enterprise tier models priced at $3400 and up.

I can see them needed certified drives in the Enterprise market where there may be higher end warranties, SLAs, etc. in place.
