Sound from a VM

Does anyone have any experience with sound on VM’s in XCP-ng ?

I would like to have 1 of my VM’s audio to come out of the audio-output of the host machine …
it’s for playing alarm sounds, triggered/played by a home automation software on a VM …

I’ve read about “passthrough”, but no real info on the sound possibilities …

You would need to do a hardware passthrough of an audio device on the host. For simplicity I’d rather use a USB DAC than trying to passthrough a PCIe or motherboard builtin one.
