Is it possible to run other software like a server software on a dedicated pfsense computer. I have a dedicated PC running pfsense and it is vastly over powered for running only one application.
Need specific instructions if possible.

I ran into a similar question when setting up my pfSense install. Instead of trying to run other services on pfSense. I virtualized it and then ran other VMs on the same server using Proxmox though there are other hypervisors that will accomplish this as well.
There are people that do not like to virtualize pfSense but I have had no problems with it this way at all, other than I need to be mindful that it is virtualized when I do any maintenance or updates on my network
