[Resolved]FreeNAS & SMB Performance

Hello there, got my first FreeNAS installed and could use help on slow SMB speeds.

I’m using 8x4TB 5400 HDDs in a Z2 config not using l2arc and ATM only 8 GB RAM. VDEV Sync = Standard. I tried Compression and Atime both on and off with same results.

The client is on a 1Gb connection, freenas on 1 pair of 1 Gb LAGG. Both machines connected to the same switch.

I’m getting between 2 MB/s and 20 MB/s via SMB share.

This is my dd results:
dd if=/dev/zero of=test.img bs=16M count=1024
1024+0 records in
1024+0 records out

FIXED
Turns out I have a bad SATA port on client-side mobo. Getting steady 110 MB/s via SMB.
