QOS needed less with gigabit

I noticed with fiber internet QOS is not needed anymore I do buffer bloat tests and nothing changes but still needed with cable internet.

I have a pathetic WAN speed, however, I have noticed that once I addressed bufferbloat my browser surfing experience improved immensely. With a 1G connection there must be so much available bandwidth for a home in general. I can easily saturate my line, would be harder with 1G.

Just another lever for ISP’s to sell more expensive packages.

My WAN speed is ok for my general needs, so I don’t need to change. Mind you I do not stream 4k, however, even then I think I still could without too many problems but any media application would need to be tweaked to download the first x% before streaming.
