Never seen this before but halfway through Wendel has a good tip on adding an additional NIC using the M.2 slot never seen that before. Looks like a much better solution than a USB NIC, albeit not very pretty. Potentially could add 4 extra NICs to a micro PC which would be a great option for pfsense.
Looks very handy in a pinch, but pfSense really doesn’t seem to like NIC’s other than Intel. That’s a rabbit hole you can drown in. All the horror stories you can read about and hair pulling by using other brand nics especially Realtek.
Yeah I know about Intel, but I’ve always thought those mini 1 litre pc’s would make a good router if only you could add a few more NICs.
