We are currently using Gsuite Basic and some users reached the 30GB storage… So our current option is to download the emails from google takeout then convert, then import the file to outlook… Is there an alternative application to import .mbox file of our emails aside from outlook? Free with unlimited space? Some users want to still access or at least check the emails that we backup…

Our usual solution is to just buy more space as dealing with lots of outlook email has more risk.

I use Mail Store Home in portable mode…but it’s quirky with Google based accounts if you want to maintain label/folder structures.
Mailstore will only backup a unique message once the first place it sees it…so if you let it backup “All Mail”, you’ll never see the email in any user created folders.
You have to run it against google in IMAP mode (enable IMAP and less secure access in your google account). Backup in “Gmail” mode will just dump out all email’s with no labels (copy of All Mail folder)…this is because of the “recommended” google API they’re using which doesn’t support labels
First Run 1: Exclude these folders from backup (Getting all user created labels/folders)
[Gmail]/[Gmail]
[Gmail]/All Mail
[Gmail]/Important
[Gmail]/Sent Mail
[Gmail]/Starred
Run 2: Get all sent email
[Gmail]/[Gmail]
[Gmail]/All Mail
[Gmail]/Important
[Gmail]/Starred
Run 3: Get all mail folder (to catch anything you missed/was archived)
[Gmail]/[Gmail]
[Gmail]/Important
[Gmail]/Starred
I’ll usually warn the user they’re going to loose the “Important” and “Starred” folders in case they’ve been using them so you don’t have a shock.
