My son has scavenged some kit together from various sources to build a home lab for his studies and the Equallogic PS4100 initially came without controllers.
He’s found two type 12 controllers. Sadly whilst advertised as “pulled from a working system” neither of them have the SD card in them. The seller has been unhelpful and so has the platform. lets not dwell on that.
Through work I have a dell business account and have tried to talk to dell, but because the unit is EOL and what we’re asking is outside their scope of support to get an image or even a new sd card with a compatible firmware they are not able to help.
It seems from a lot of reading that all that is needed is an image of a working SD card and write that to the new 1G SD cards he’s bought.
Does anyone have a image of a type 12 controller SD card ?
Don’t really care what version of firmware but v9 seems the sweet spot for compatibility and since the array hasn’t been setup yet there’s no need to preserve settings etc.
incidentally this PS4100 is the model that uses the E09M modules that stack on top of each other in the rear horizontally, not the other smaller type that sit side by side vertically.
Didn’t know there was a difference until the dell person asked. (but then he didn’t seem very knowledgeable anyway so that might be bogus info)
