You could, but why would you? You’ll have to go through a bunch of updates after building.
Wasn’t that the last ISO you could download from pfSense without using their installer, can’t see why you can’t use that as an install point.
Not that many. Besides, I believe they might be limiting access for Hardware sales.Besides I would rather use Dark Linux, but we use that for honeypots-still a good choice, but, it requires a much beefier system other than 2 core and 4 core boom boxes they have out there.

You could go with OPNSense which is a fork of pfsense. I love pfsense but this online installer crap is bs. OPNSense works great and the UI is modern.

What on line installer? You can still download an ISO or a thumb drive image.
you can but its only a bootstrap and the rest of the install assumes you are online in order to download and install the packages.
Just download offline 2.7.2 installer from here, and once you install it, just upgrade to 2.8.1 and you are good to go.
Well, I did a first. Last night I did a live capture of 2.8.1, turned it into an ISO (after updating from 2.7.2) Clone. SIMONE AI (proprietary) will be used to create an installer. Oh the giggles that will create. OPNsense will be my next project.
I would be interested to hear how you did this, and if it worked.

A quick search on MTIT makes me think that a solid time reference is part of the key, but I might have misunderstood the quick summary. That said, I’m guessing you are dealing with PTP timing a lot to help with the security aspect, a byte delayed is a byte compromised type of thing. Agian, might be misunderstanding here.
Everything is quantum powered. We were a contractor for Dark Matter and made exclusive chips for KATIM phones. The company is owned by attorney’s who purchased Quantums, all failed designs. They were purchased from INDIA who bought them from Russia. Reworked in Atlanta, we sold some, we have ten exclusive units-sold 2. This is the only way to run MTIT without latency is through these.
So quantum timing for this (more precise than PTP)? It’s all interesting, and stuff I’ll never touch, but still interesting.
